CENTERING BRAND VALUES AROUND COMMUNITY

Nextdoor is a free private social network that connects you to your neighbors, giving a greater sense of community and pride for where you set your roots. While Nextdoor is a great service, there is so much opportunity in reflecting core values into the brand and logo that I felt Nextdoor was missing.

As a design challenge, I created a more personable and delightful brand experience. Keeping into account emotions around neighborhood, I tied the brand personality to key words such as playful, wholesome, and friendly.  The logo reflects this with four houses gathering in the center, with their open doors smiling. Visual imagery also plays around a blossom, or a modern family crest. Other brand assets accompanying the experience is warm, earthy photography depicting domestic activities, a playful pattern made of the logo, and flat, textural illustration.
